GURGAON: Residents will be able to access a range of government services, certificates, welfare schemes and free legal assistance under one roof at a mega service camp to be held at DPG Law College in Sector 37 on Friday.Organised by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Gurgaon, in collaboration with DPG Law College, the camp will bring officials from several government departments together with the aim of making public services more accessible and helping eligible beneficiaries avail themselves of welfare schemes.The camp, being held under the directions of the Punjab and Haryana high court and guidance of the Haryana State Legal Services Authority, will begin at 11am on September 25.Among the key facilities will be services related to Aadhaar, Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP) and resident certificates.Residents will also be able to get information and assistance regarding pensions and social security schemes, women and child welfare programmes, healthcare, education, employment and labour welfare schemes.A dedicated legal aid stall will be a major feature of the camp.Panel advocates associated with DLSA will hear residents’ legal problems and guide eligible applicants on their rights, available legal services and possible remedies.Information will also be provided on the procedure for obtaining free legal aid through DLSA.Para-legal volunteers will assist visitors in understanding the available services and connecting them with the relevant departments.Officials and representatives from the social welfare, women and child development, education, health, Ayush, district welfare, employment and labour departments, besides the Indian Red Cross Society and other agencies, are expected to participate.The education department will provide information on government schemes, scholarships and other facilities for students and parents, while health and Ayush officials will conduct awareness activities and provide information on available services.Employment and labour officials will brief visitors on job opportunities and welfare schemes for workers.District and sessions judge and DLSA chairman Narendra Sura said the objective was to bring different government departments on a common platform so that people could access services more easily and eligible beneficiaries could avail themselves of their rights and welfare benefits.DLSA secretary and chief judicial magistrate Nisha is overseeing the initiative, with DLSA officials, panel advocates and para-legal volunteers participating in the camp.DLSA has urged residents to attend the camp with the necessary documents so that they can avail themselves of the relevant services and assistance.
