GURGAON: Over 15,000 candidates will appear for the Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET) across 22 designated examination centers in Gurgaon on July 4 and 5. Following a state-level security review by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, Deputy Commissioner Uttam Singh chaired a high-level briefing to lock down foolproof arrangements for a transparent and malpractice-free examination. A total of 15,367 aspirants are scheduled to sit for the Level-1, Level-2, and Level-3 exams in the district. This includes 4,674 candidates for PGT, 6,984 for TGT, and 3,709 for JBT posts. The administration has issued a strict protocol for admit cards, which are available for download starting today on the Board of School Education Haryana (BSEH) website (www.bseh.org.in). Candidates must bring colour printouts of both the “Center Copy” and “Candidate Copy” of the admit card along with the original photo ID used during registration. Black-and-white prints will not be accepted. To ensure exam integrity, the district has enforced an absolute ban on electronic gadgets and personal items. Mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, smartwatches, fitness bands, calculators, wallets, and any written material are strictly prohibited inside the venues. Strict Dress Code Enforced: In line with security guidelines, female candidates will only be permitted to wear a Mangalsutra. Sikh and baptized candidates will be allowed to carry their mandatory religious symbols. All other jewelry—including rings, chains, earrings, and necklaces—must be removed before entering the center. In a relief for visually impaired or specially-abled candidates (with 40% or higher disability affecting writing capability), the board is allowing the use of scribes. Candidates can either request a scribe from the board headquarters or arrange their own by coordinating with the Center Superintendent, provided the scribe’s qualification does not exceed Senior Secondary level. Such candidates will also receive an additional compensatory time of 50 minutes (20 minutes per hour). Local authorities, including SDM Manesar Darshan Yadav and District Education Officer Indu Bokan, have been ordered to coordinate with departments like transport, electricity, and health to ensure smooth transit and power backup during the two-day examination. Candidates facing any technical glitches while downloading admit cards can reach out to the BSEH helpline at 01664-254305.
