Gandhinagar: The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) reported that over 4,000 benefited from the ‘best of two’ scoring system introduced to improve academic performance. According to official data, a total of 12,885 students from Classes X and XII registered for the supplementary of which 10,359 appeared and 4,078 successfully improved their results. Data showed that 6,281 students saw no change in their scores.The highest participation was recorded in HSC Science stream where 11,858 students registered and 9,711 appeared for the exam. Among them, 3,632 students improved their scores. In Class X, 646 students registered, 412 appeared, and 300 managed to improve their results. There was no change in the results of 112 students.In HSC General stream, 381 students registered for the improvement exams. Out of them, 236 appeared, with 146 students improving their results and 90 not achieving any improvement.The board stated that the ‘best of two’ system provides students with an opportunity to enhance their scores without losing an academic year.
