Vellore: A woman head constable attached to Gudiyattam taluk police station was stabbed to death, allegedly by her husband, while she was returning home after duty near Nellorpettai on the Gudiyattam-Pernambut road on Thursday night.The head constable, A Thamaraiselvi of Erthangal was riding home on her two-wheeler around 8 pm when her husband, Arvindan, an auto driver, intercepted her. Police said he stabbed her on the neck with a pair of scissors before fleeing the spot. Thamaraiselvi collapsed in a pool of blood on the road.Passersby rushed Thamaraiselvi to the govt hospital in Gudiyattam, where doctors declared her brought dead. Arvindan later went to the same hospital and got admitted claiming that he was also injured. Police said Arvindan had inflicted injuries on his chest using the same scissor. He is being questioned in the hospital.Police said the couple, with two children, had been having frequent arguments over a family dispute for the past few days.A case has been registered and further investigation is under way.
