INS Srishti’, the second NGOPV, seven out of its series was launched at GSLs yard on Tuesday.

Vasco: Goa Shipyard Ltd (GSL) on Tuesday launched INS Srishti, the seventh vessel in the Indian Navy’s next-generation offshore patrol vessel (NGOPV) series and the second of its kind to be launched.GSL chairperson and managing director Brajesh Kumar Upadhyay said the launch reflected the shipyard’s technical competence, the growing maturity of its industrial ecosystem and its efforts to translate the Navy’s operational requirements into reliable, technologically advanced maritime platforms.“Today’s launch is not merely a ceremonial milestone, but it represents another step forward in the execution of a strategically significant national programme. It reinforces our commitment to engineering excellence, stringent quality standards and overall discipline to deliver on project timelines,” Upadhyay said.He said GSL was a formidable force in supporting the Indian Navy across a diverse spectrum of demanding maritime operations.“The progress of major naval programmes, including the landing platform docks, further underscores the need to strengthen India’s maritime capabilities across the full spectrum of operations,” he said, reiterating GSL’s commitment to bolstering the country’s maritime strength through advanced, indigenously built naval platforms.
