Hyderabad: The Telangana Government Doctors Association (TGGDA), which met health minister Damodar Raja Narasimha on Sunday, raised several pending issues concerning govt doctors and the public healthcare system.In a representation submitted to the minister, the delegation sought the early appointment of a commissioner for the directorate of secondary health services (DSHS), sanctioning of the remaining 14 DMHO posts, and promotions for eligible civil surgeons. The minister informed the delegation that a DSHS commissioner would be appointed in the first week of Octo.The TGGDA also urged the govt to expedite pending promotions of additional directors in the directorate of medical education (DME) and eligible professors.The association further sought the immediate release of pending Aarogyasri funds to gov\t hospitals, stating that the funds were essential for uninterrupted patient care and the smooth functioning of hospitals.“The minister assured us that the issues would be resolved at the earliest. He also assured the association that a special meeting with the TGGDA would be convened shortly to discuss all pending issues comprehensively,” TGGDA president Dr B Narahari said.
