Ahmedabad: A complaint of theft has been registered after gold jewellery worth an estimated Rs 30 lakh went missing from a home in Vastrapur.The complainant, 56, stated that the jewellery, comprising several gold ornaments, was kept in a bedroom locker inside a bed-box and was secured with a lock.According to the complaint, a woman known to the family had been staying and moving around the house, and the complainant suspects the theft was committed using a duplicate key. The complainant stated that he had agreed to marry the woman but later backed out, after which she continued staying with the family.The complainant further stated that the woman’s daughter and son-in-law also came and stayed with the family. He said that when his gold chain broke and he went to keep it in the locker, he discovered the theft.The complainant stated that the woman also had access to the locker.
