Panaji: The new building of the Goa state museum will be reconstructed within a year. “We will reconstruct the museum as soon as possible and exhibit its 10,000-odd artefacts,” chief minister Pramod Sawant said on Monday.“In addition, we will have a dedicated gallery for people to showcase their personal collections to the public,” he said while speaking at the Museum Day celebrations at Goa Science Centre.The museum has been temporarily housed at the Adil Shah Palace in Panaji since 2017 after it moved there due to the deteriorating condition of its earlier building at Patto. The Adil Shah Palace will continue to be under the directorate of museums after its shift to the new premises.Sawant added govt will support private museums with financial assistance and all private museums are being mapped to make information available to the public on govt website. He further urged parents to bring their children to the Goa Science Centre often.
