Panaji: Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) has sought simpler GST compliance procedures and regulatory reforms to benefit Goa’s MSMEs and exporters.Speaking at a seminar on the 57 GST Council decisions and latest FEMA (Export and Import of Goods and Services) Regulations, 2026, GCCI president Pratima Dhond said businesses must understand the regulatory changes and their impact on working capital, cash flows and expansion.Addressing senior GST officials from the office of the Commissioner of CGST, Dhond called for simpler procedures, reduced avoidable litigation and timely, clear communication of changes. She said MSMEs exploring exports, imports and overseas ventures would need guidance on the new FEMA framework.Commissioner of CGST Subodh Singh assured industry representatives that the department would conduct capacity-building and interactive sessions for businesses and practitioners over the next 100 days.Singh said GST had largely evolved into a two-rate structure. Decisions on simplified registration for small taxpayers, input tax credit, working capital and rationalised penal provisions reflected a trust-based approach to compliance, he said. He also described the steady growth in GST collections despite global economic challenges as a positive sign.Participants raised issues concerning refunds, export-import transactions and the transition to amended statutory provisions, which Singh promised to examine. Corporate tax and finance professionals, chartered accountants, company secretaries, tax practitioners and industry representatives attended the seminar.
