Ludhiana: A high-profile criminal linked to the Puneet Bains gang has been arrested following a police raid that uncovered a stash of heroin.Movish Bains, a resident of Killa Mohalla, was intercepted by the CIA-2 unit near Kadiyan village while commuting on a scooter. A search at a police checkpoint yielded 300g heroin, leading to a fresh FIR at the Ladhowal police station.Bains was already a wanted man prior to the drug seizure. The investigating officer, sub-inspector Mamta Minhas, confirmed he was being sought for a violent scuffle reported in March at the Division Number 4 police station. The suspect’s criminal record includes at least eight FIRs, with alleged involvement in carjackings, drug peddling, and multiple shooting incidents.Police are now interrogating Bains to identify the suppliers behind the heroin shipment. Authorities believe his arrest may lead to further names being added to the investigation as they work to dismantle the local distribution network.
