Lucknow: Four Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) personnel deployed in the security detail of chief minister Yogi Adityanath were allegedly assaulted by a group of 10 to 12 unidentified men following a dispute over plucking mangoes at Dilkusha Park in Lucknow, police said.According to the FIR, the incident occurred around 6 pm on July 14, when Ummed Kumar, 31, a resident of Bulandshahr, along with his colleagues Sonu Kumar, 28, of Meerut, Ajay Kumar and Pravesh Kumar, all posted with C Company of the 47th Battalion PAC, had gone to Dilkusha Park for exercise after completing their duty.The complainant alleged that while they were exercising, two unidentified men accused them of plucking mangoes from a tree inside the park and began abusing them. The PAC personnel denied the allegation, stating that they had not plucked any mangoes.The verbal altercation soon escalated after the two men allegedly returned with 10 to 12 associates, who assaulted the PAC personnel. The attackers allegedly beat them and also hurled bricks during the assault.The FIR states that Ummed Kumar and Sonu Kumar sustained head injuries in the attack. After the incident, the injured personnel returned to their camp, informed their platoon commander and received first aid before undergoing treatment at Civil Hospital.Based on Ummed Kumar’s complaint, police have registered an FIR against unknown accused. An investigation has been initiated to identify the assailants and ascertain the circumstances leading to the assault.
