Hyderabad: Telangana chief secretary Sanjay Jaju said the govt has proposed four industrial parks in the state under the Centre’s Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojana (BHAVYA) scheme. The parks identified are at Thimmapur in Kandukur mandal, Eliminedu in Ibrahimpatnam, Madaram in Ghatkesar mandal, and Dandu Mylaram in Choutuppal mandal. He said that several leading companies have shown interest in establishing industries in sectors such as electronics and software in these parks. In addition, he said proposals are also being prepared for setting up industrial parks in 16 more locations.The chief secretary held a review meeting with officials at the Secretariat on the progress of the industrial parks planned in the state. Jaju said that the detailed project reports for the four industrial parks being taken up in the first phase of the Bhavya scheme would be submitted to the Centre by the end of this month. He stated that each park would span more than 500 acres and that land acquisition and other preparatory arrangements had already been completed.Meanwhile, the CS held another meeting on sugarcane cultivation in Telangana and asked the officials to take steps to encourage its cultivation. He said that of the total 12 sugar factories in the state, only seven are functional due to insufficient crops. The CS said while about 50 lakh tons of sugarcane is required, only 20 lakh tons of production is available annually in the state. Farmers’ representatives asked the state govt to provide an incentive of ₹500 per ton for sugarcane on the lines of paddy.
