Lucknow: Four construction workers were injured, three of them seriously, after falling from the seventh floor of an under-construction apartment building in Lucknow’s Mahanagar area on Thursday afternoon, prompting an investigation into the cause of the accident.The incident occurred at a high-end apartment project in Vigyanpuri under Mahanagar police station limits. According to officials, the workers were carrying out plastering work on the seventh floor when a pipe supporting the work platform snapped, causing all four labourers to plunge into the lift duct and fall into the basement.The injured include Chhotu Kumar (25), Surendra Kumar (45), Nikku (24) and Monu (25), all residents of Samastipur district of Bihar. Officials said three workers sustained serious injuries, while the fourth suffered injuries that were comparatively minor.Police, administrative officials and rescue teams rushed to the spot after receiving information about the incident. The injured workers were rescued and shifted to a private hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.Sadar tehsildar Jai Prakash said a detailed inquiry was initiated to determine whether there was any negligence or violation of safety norms at the site.Fire station officer (Hazratganj) Ram Kumar Rawat said plastering work was in progress on the seventh floor when the mishap took place.City magistrate Gyan Chandra Gupta said the district administration inspected the site soon after the incident and was monitoring treatment of the injured workers. Construction work at the site was temporarily halted following the accident while officials examined the circumstances leading to the fall.
