Hyderabad: A massive fire broke out at a furniture manufacturing unit in Kishanbagh on Tuesday afternoon, and firefighters extinguished the flames within 45 minutes. No casualties were reported.According to Chandulal Biradari station fire officer (SFO) B Surender Reddy, they received a distress call from locals at around 2.28 pm regarding the incident. Five fire engines from four stations were dispatched to the scene.“Preliminary enquiries suggest the fire may have been caused by a short circuit. The fire spread to nearby plywood and later engulfed the entire godown. It intensified due to the presence of foam and furniture sets,” said Rajendranagar SFO V Chandra Naik.The unit is owned by Khaja Pasha, who has yet to lodge a police complaint regarding the incident. “Officials are currently clearing debris from the scene, although the fire has been extinguished. The legal process will begin after that,” said Bahadurpura inspector Md Shakeel Ali.The property loss is estimated at 10 lakh. Further investigation into the incident is underway.
