Fire at RBI building, separate blaze in Kapashera scrap godown

New Delhi: A fire broke out in a solar panel installation at the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) building on Sansad Marg in central Delhi on Tuesday afternoon, officials said.According to the Delhi Fire Service (DFS), a distress call was received around 1.05 pm, following which four fire tenders, about 24 firefighters and a hydraulic platform (bronto) were rushed to the spot. The blaze was brought under control within 15 minutes and fully doused by 1.20 pm.Preliminary findings suggest the fire may have originated in a miniature circuit breaker (MCB) box linked to the solar panel system. No injuries or casualties were reported. Authorities said an inquiry has been initiated to ascertain the exact cause.In a separate incident, a fire broke out at a scrap godown in southwest Delhi’s Kapashera area later in the day.DFS said it received a call around 3.35 pm, after which 10 fire tenders and around 60 personnel were deployed. Officials said the presence of scrap material led to the rapid spread of the fire.The blaze was brought under control, and no injuries were reported.
