Ajmer: A viral video of youths risking their lives for social media reels on a moving train between Marwar Junction and Goram Ghat has prompted the railways to order identification of those involved and initiate legal action.The video shows youths hanging from coach doors, leaning out of windows, climbing onto the roof and filming stunts on the Marwar–Kamlighat–Goram Ghat section, a route known for high bridges, deep valleys, tunnels and hilly terrain.Taking note of the incident, divisional railway manager Raju Bhutra Monday directed railway officials and investigating agencies to trace the youths and begin proceedings against them.Senior divisional commercial manager Mihir Dev said the stunt could have turned fatal. “This could be dangerous and can cost lives while putting others’ lives in danger. Such youths want to be famous on social media through such reels,” he said.Dev said the act violated railway safety rules and attracted criminal action. “This is against the Railway Act and also a violation of security measures in railways, which is also a criminal offence, and RPF (Railway Protection Force) will register an FIR and will take action against such accused,” he said.The railways appealed to people not to endanger themselves or others for social media popularity.Bhutra said the railways would combine awareness with strict enforcement. “We will not only bring awareness about this issue but also book such youths and take legal action. Secure travelling is the priority of the railways. Such stunt can make the families of such youths in mourning,” he said.“Travel in trains and enjoy the ride but follow the rules of railway security measures,” Bhutra added, urging passengers to report such incidents by dialling 139 so railway police can act against offenders.
