FIR against six club staffers for assaulting customer, operating beyond permitted hours

Gurgaon: A man was allegedly assaulted by staffers at a nightclub in Sector 29 after a dispute occurred around 6 am on Sunday.Harshit Bahirwani, 33, a resident of DLF Phase 3, told police that around six staff members attacked him and stole Rs 80,000 in cash that he was carrying. He said he was beaten after he resisted and claimed he was threatened with dire consequences and was also blackmailed into being framed in a case of sexual harassment.Police said the complainant was found bleeding outside the club and was sent for a medical examination at the Civil Hospital in Sector 10.Officers reviewed CCTV footage from the club premises. “Footage and preliminary inquiry confirm that the complainant was assaulted by club staff. However, no evidence of cash being snatched has been found so far,” a police official said.The investigation also revealed that the club was operating beyond permitted hours, in violation of govt regulations.Police added that they are continuing to examine evidence and statements to establish the full sequence of events. A case was registered under Sections 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 126(2) (wrongful restraint), 190 (unlawful assembly), 191(2) (rioting), 223(a) (disobedience to lawful order by public servant), and 351(2) (criminal intimidation) of the BNS at Sector 29 Police Station.No arrests have been made in the case so far.
