Ghaziabad: An FIR has been registered against the organisers of a dandiya programme at Wave City after DJ music allegedly continued beyond 10 pm on Oct 18 despite a police warning. The event was held behind T-7 clubhouse at Dream Homes Society. A resident called the Dial 112 police helpline more than five times over the high volume, following which police asked the organisers to lower it. They allegedly resumed playing music at high volume after cops left, forcing the complainant and her partner to move to a hotel room.Police said a resident of Dream Homes Society, Asaweri Meenakshi, who works at a multinational company, filed a complaint. She told the cops that she and her partner, Prashant Mishra, had to work till late at night. She said the organisers were holding a dandiya night event when they had permission for a jagran during Navaratri. Mishra allegedly went to the venue and requested the organisers to lower the volume, but they misbehaved with him.She raised five complaints through the helpline. Each time police arrived, the organisers lowered the volume, raising it again after they left. She also told the police the DJ allegedly played vulgar songs that hurt her religious sentiments. “It affected my physical and mental health. I was helpless as I had to finish my work, so we left our flat and stayed at a hotel that night,” she said.Permissible ambient noise limits are 75 dB(A) during the day and 70 dB(A) at night in industrial areas. The limits are 65 dB(A) during the day and 55 dB(A) at night in commercial areas, and 55 dB(A) and 45 dB(A), respectively, in residential areas. In silence zones, covering areas within 100 metres of hospitals, educational institutions and courts, the limits are 50 dB(A) during the day and 40 dB(A) at night.
