Jaipur: A 42-year-old financier was arrested for allegedly raping a 24-year-old married woman over four months by threatening to misuse a blank cheque she had given him as security for a loan, police said.According to police, the Jaipur woman alleged that she had borrowed Rs 2 lakh from the accused to meet financial needs and had handed over blank cheques as security. She claimed that although she repaid the entire loan amount, the financier continued demanding more money. He was arrested on Saturday.The woman alleged that the accused threatened to fill in a large amount on one of the blank cheques, present it for encashment and implicate her in a cheque bounce case if she refused his demands.Police said the complainant alleged that the accused first raped her in April this year after threatening her with criminal proceedings. She further claimed that he continued to call her to different locations and sexually assault her until July 12, using the same threat to prevent her from approaching the police.Unable to bear the alleged harassment, the woman lodged an FIR. Police recorded her statement, conducted her medical examination and arrested the accused. Further investigation is underway.
