Fatehabad police crack Rs 7.4L highway robbery in 43 hours, 4 held

Fatehabad: Fatehabad police claimed to have solved a Rs 7.4-lakh highway robbery case within 43 hours on Tuesday, arresting four suspects, including the alleged mastermind, and recovering Rs 1.3 lakh in cash along with the getaway car.The armed robbery took place on Sept 5 around 6.30 pm on Sarangpur Road near Kharakheri village. According to additional superintendent of police Divyanshi Singla, the suspects fired shots to halt the vehicle of complainant Sandeep Kumar from Adampur in Hisar district before snatching the cash and fleeing.A case was registered at the Sadar Fatehabad police station under the BNS and the Arms Act. CIA and local police units utilised technical and human intelligence to crack the case, discovering that the key conspirator met co-conspirators in Hisar jail before his release 25 days ago. The group subsequently gathered at a Hisar hotel to hatch the plan and track the victim’s cash movements.Police withheld the suspects’ identities pending a court-ordered test identification parade. The accused will be produced in court to seek police remand for recovering the remaining cash and the firearm used in the crime.
