Jaisalmer: A couple allegedly died by suicide after throwing their two children into a water storage tank in Loharki village under Ramdevra police station area in Jaisalmer district Sunday night. All four members of the family died.According to police, the deceased were identified as Jasraj Suthar (30), his wife Nirma (28), their son Bharat (10) and daughter Manisha (5).Ramdevra station house officer Devkishan said police received information late Sunday night that the couple had jumped into the tank after allegedly throwing their children into it. With the help of villagers, all four were pulled out and rushed to Loharki Hospital, where doctors declared them dead.

The bodies were later shifted to the mortuary at Pokhran Hospital for post-mortem.According to the preliminary investigation, Jasraj’s brother allegedly saw him jumping into the tank and raised an alarm. Family members rushed to the spot, but by then all four had drowned.Police said they are probing the case from all possible angles. A forensic examination of the water tank has been conducted, and further action will be taken after a complaint is received from the family. Prima facie, investigators suspect the incident was linked to a domestic dispute.
