Lucknow: An art exhibition, ‘Kala Acharya’, featuring creative works by art teachers from the Lucknow-Prayagraj region was inaugurated at the State Lalit Kala Akademi on Tuesday.The exhibition brings together a diverse range of works created by teachers associated with fine arts and visual arts from different districts of the region.As many as 56 artworks across various genres, including drawing, painting, graphics, sculpture, folk art and photography, are on display.Works by Rajendra Prasad, Dr Sunita Sharma, Prof Umesh Kumar Saxena, Prof Sunil Kumar Saxena, Harimohan Singh, Dr Angad Verma and Ravindra Nath Kushwaha are among the highlights of the exhibition.A folk painting titled ‘Menka’ depicts a woman seated beside a river, waiting for her lover. The artwork symbolically portrays her tears flowing into the river.Another painting, dominated by shades of green and blue, represents the diversity of vegetation and river systems on Earth. A visitor to the exhibition, Malini Jamwal, said, “I loved the unconventional ideas conveyed through the paintings.”The exhibition will remain open to the public from 11 am to 5 pm daily till Oct 1.
