Gurgaon: A 62-year-old ex-serviceman died in a hit-and-run accident near Kalwari Mod on the Bilaspur-Taoru road on Thursday evening.The deceased, Kabul Singh, was a resident of Pathredi village. Police said they received information about a man found injured on the roadside around 8.30pm on Thursday. A team reached the spot and took him to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead. The body was sent for autopsy and later handed over to the family.Family members told police that Singh had stepped out in the evening to buy groceries but did not return.An officer said, “It appears that an unidentified vehicle hit him and fled.” Investigators suspect Singh was either walking along the roadside or crossing the road when he was hit. CCTV footage from the area is being analysed to establish the sequence of events.A case has been registered against an unidentified driver under sections 281 (rash driving) and 106 (causing death by negligence) of BNS. Police said efforts are underway to identify the vehicle and trace the driver.
