Jaipur: The Akhil Rajasthan Rajya Karmachari Sanyukt Mahasangh Ekikrit, a state govt employees’ association, has demanded the resignation of education minister Madan Dilawar, alleging irregularities in the education department, including in the recent transfer process.The association said it will submit a memorandum to Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and stage a protest at Civil Lines Gate in Jaipur on Sunday.Its complaints include non-transfer of Grade III teachers, alleged disregard of administrative transfer guidelines, failure to consider cases involving serious illness, widows and abandoned women, and spouse-posting requests. It also objected to the inspection of female teachers’ mobile phones on school premises.The association also cited delays in regularising physical training instructors (PTIs), repeated verification of disability certificates of differently abled staff, and the failure to assign postings to promoted vice-principals and principals for more than a year and a half.Mahendra Singh, chairperson of the Akhil Rajasthan Rajya Karmachari Sanyukt Mahasangh Ekikrit, said, “We have discussed different issues that teachers and employees are facing in the education department and have decided to submit a memorandum to Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma. Our demand is that the education minister must resign as there are allegations of numerous irregularities in the recent transfer process.”Rajendra Rana, state president of the association, said, “The education department is facing disrepute due to the minister’s decisions, statements and conduct towards teachers who come to meet him. There are frequent U-turns on various orders, women’s mobile phones are being checked during inspections, corruption in transfers. A complaint regarding these matters will be lodged with the Chief Minister.”Responding to allegations of corruption in transfers, Dilawar said, “If anyone were to swear upon their children’s heads that I have accepted money in exchange for a transfer, I would quit politics. Similar allegations were previously levelled against the then education minister, Govind Singh Dotasra; teachers themselves spoke of monetary transactions involved in transfers in the presence of former chief minister Ashok Gehlot.”
