Gurgaon: A retired defence ministry official died after a crane hit the motorcycle he was travelling on near Kanwarsika village in Nuh on Tuesday afternoon.A resident of Barota village in Sonipat, Prabhu Dayal, was travelling to Sohna for some work. According to his son, Dayal had taken a lift on a motorcycle. During the journey, the motorcycle was struck by a crane driven rashly and negligently. The crane driver fled the spot, abandoning the vehicle.A police officer said that while Dayal was being taken to Sohna Civil Hospital for treatment, he succumbed to his injuries on the way. The motorcyclist also sustained injuries and was shifted to a hospital.After receiving information, a team from Rojka Meo police station reached the spot. The body was sent for autopsy and later handed over to the family.Based on the family’s complaint, police registered a case under sections 281 (rash driving) and 106 (causing death by negligence) of BNS. A 13-year-old girl died and five of her family members, including a woman, were injured after a speeding SUV allegedly rammed into a tempo from behind on Sohna-Dolah Road on Thursday.The accident occurred around 10am. Police said the victims are residents of Sushil Nagar Colony. “The driver of a Hyundai Venue car allegedly hit the pickup tempo from behind at high speed. The impact overturned both vehicles into nearby fields, causing extensive damage. The driver fled the spot, abandoning the SUV,” an officer said.The girl, Deepika, died at the scene, while five others sustained serious injuries. They were taken to Sohna Civil Hospital and later referred to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi because of the severity of their injuries. Police said one of the injured remains in critical condition.The girl’s father alleged that the SUV driver was driving rashly and negligently when the collision occurred. He said several members of the family suffered fractures and other serious injuries in the crash.Following his complaint, an FIR was registered at Sohna City police station under sections 281 (rash driving) and 106 (causing death by negligence) of BNS against the unidentified driver. The girl’s body was sent for post-mortem examination.“We are examining the circumstances surrounding the accident and are trying to identify and trace the driver of the SUV,” a police officer said.
