Dhubri: Sky-rocketing prices of commodities, including garments and essentials, has resulted in a nearly 50% decline in Eid-Ul-Zuha sales at Dhubri markets compared to previous years.A garments store owner in Dhubri town, Mangilal Surana, expressed concern over reduction in pre-festival sales. “I have a huge stock. So far, only 30% stock has been cleared,” he added.A grocery shop owner, Rajkumar Ghose, said they have no control over prices. However, the rise has affected the sale of essentials.Reacting to high price of goats, Syed Noor Ahmed, a resident of Falumari village, said, “ We have to give up Qurbani this year. Even a small goat costs Rs 6000.”
