Shantanu Sinha Biwsas’s house at Fern Road
Kolkata: The Enforcement Directorate on Friday filed a chargesheet against former Kolkata Police DC Shantanu Sinha Biswas in a land-grabbing case. The agency alleged that the former Kalighat police station OC had embezzled Rs 3 crore in the scam.Sinha Biswas’s name surfaced in the land-grabbing case after the agency started looking into the roles of Sona Pappu alias Bishwajit Poddar and businessman Joy Kamdar. According to ED sources, the three formed a nexus to grab land and harass landowners. The agency alleged that nearly Rs 50 crore was embezzled in the scam in Kolkata and adjoining areas.
