Jaipur: A drug trafficker carrying a Rs 25,000 reward, who allegedly escaped police twice after abandoning vehicles loaded with poppy husk, was arrested Sunday by Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) in Chittorgarh after three years on the run.IG, ANTF, Vikas Kumar identified the suspect as Nimbaraam alias Nimaram, a resident of Paschim Dhani Jatawas under Lohawat police station in Phalodi, who was arrested from Joganiya Mata area.The fugitive had 26 cases against him under NDPS Act, Arms Act and Excise Act and on other serious charges, including attempt to murder, assault and criminal conspiracy.Kumar said that back in 2024, Nimbaraam allegedly drove a Fortuner to Chittorgarh to collect drugs. After loading the consignment, police intercepted the vehicle near Parsoli area of the district. He allegedly abandoned the SUV and fled into a forest.In another case, he allegedly travelled to Rawatbhata in an SUV and loaded around 3.16 quintals of poppy husk. Police intercepted the vehicle during a blockade near Kota, but Nimbaraam allegedly abandoned it and fled with an associate.Police said Nimbaraam entered the drug trade after dropping out of school after Class VIII and working as a truck driver and labourer. He allegedly came into contact with drug traffickers while working in Jodhpur and later built his own network. Police said he continued trafficking poppy husk with his associates while absconding.Police records show that 26 cases have been registered against him between 2017 and 2026 in Jodhpur, Pali and Chittorgarh districts. The cases include offences under NDPS Act, besides charges under Arms Act and of attempt to murder.
