Ludhiana: Police and municipal officials in Jagraon demolished the house of an alleged drug peddler in Mohalla Rampura on Wednesday as part of the Punjab govt’s anti-narcotics campaign.The property belonged to Amar Pal, also known as Sevak and Gursewak, who is from Lande Phatak village. Station house officer Paraminder Singh said a joint crew had carried out the demolition after completing all required legal procedures.Amar Pal faces ten criminal cases involving drug trafficking, theft, and weapons offences dating back to 2011. Courts have convicted him in three cases and acquitted him in three others, while four remain pending.Heavy police units cordoned off the neighbourhood ahead of the operation to maintain order and prevent resistance. The SHO confirmed that the action targeted properties linked to illegal narcotics trade across the state.
