Ludhiana: Girls have dominated the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) Class XII results, with two from Ludhiana achieving perfect scores to lead a city-wide surge in academic excellence.The results, released Wednesday, saw Suhani Chauhan and Divanshi clinch 100% marks in the humanities stream. Their flawless performance spearheaded a strong showing for Ludhiana, which secured multiple top-tier state rankings across the science, commerce, and humanities disciplines.The Perfect ScoreSuhani Chauhan, of BCM Senior Secondary School, and Divanshi, of Teja Singh Sutantar Memorial School, both scored 500 out of 500. The pair tied for first spot in the city, but in the state rankings where age was the tiebreaking factor among the candidates with perfect scores, Suhani stood second and Divanshi third.Suhani, whose father is an HR executive, aims to study law at Guru Nanak Dev University. Divanshi, who recently returned to India after completing her Class X studies in Canada, attributed her success to a disciplined schedule and now plans to enter the information technology sector. She likes reading and dancing.Triumph Over AdversityThe results also highlighted the achievements of students from modest backgrounds. Simran Tiwari, whose father is a vegetable vendor, secured second place in the city with a 99.4% score in the science stream. Despite her family’s financial constraints, she studied through the night — often from 9pm to 2am — to pursue her dream of becoming a cardiologist. She credited her school with giving her the financial support necessary to complete her studies.Commerce LeadersIn the commerce stream, a three-way tie emerged at Teja Singh Sutantar Memorial School. Tanya Sharma, Shauryaveer Thakur, and Ranjit Singh all recorded 98.4%.The trio represents a broad cross-section of Ludhiana’s workforce; their parents’ occupations range from a gurdwara sewadar (volunteer) and building material store owner to an accountant. Their career ambitions include civil services, banking, and digital marketing.
