Chennai: DMK president M K Stalin on Saturday said the party would bounce back from its electoral defeat and emerge stronger, as it had begun a comprehensive restructuring exercise to prepare for the future. In a letter to cadres ahead of his UK visit, Stalin said the DMK had launched an extensive review by forming 19 teams, comprising 38 members, to visit every assembly constituency and collect feedback from party workers. “We are here. We will return (to power) – this is the voice of the cadres I hear in Arivalayam,” he said, adding that their confidence had strengthened his resolve to rebuild the organisation.Referring to the launch of the “Udanpirappin Kural” online platform, which allows party workers to share their views directly with the leadership, Stalin said the DMK had also formed a restructuring advisory committee with leaders representing both youth and experience. The panel has been tasked with recommending reforms, including district reorganisation, restructuring party wings, revamping election committees, and making organisational changes from the branch level to the party headquarters, he said.Describing the DMK as one of the strongest organisationally structured parties in the country, Stalin said the exercise was aimed at strengthening the party for the next century. The DMK had faced both victories and defeats without losing its ideological commitment and remained united by shared principles and cadre strength, he said. “Look back at history. There are no winners like us; there were no losers like us. We did not carry victory on our heads or bear failure in our hearts. That is why we have risen like a phoenix,” he said.
