New Delhi: Two men, both only a few months over the age of 18, have been apprehended for allegedly murdering one person and injuring another after a dispute over music with a DJ at a bar in outer Delhi’s Shahbad Daulatpur escalated into a revenge attack outside the bar hours later.According to police, information regarding a violent altercation outside a lodge and bar was received in the early hours of June 18. Upon reaching the spot, officers found two men with serious stab injuries. Both victims were rushed to the hospital for treatment, but one of them succumbed to his injuries Tuesday during treatment.“A tip-off was received regarding the whereabouts of one of the accused,” said DCP (crime) Harsh Indora. “Acting swiftly on the information, a raid was conducted, and the accused were apprehended from Pitampura Wednesday.”The accused have been identified as Abhishek (18 years and 7 months) and Ashwin (18 years and 3 months). During interrogation, the duo allegedly disclosed that they had visited the establishment to smoke hookah when an argument broke out with the DJ operator after he refused to play a song of their choice.Police said the disagreement soon escalated into a physical confrontation, during which the accused were allegedly assaulted by several people present at the venue. Nursing a grudge over the incident, they left the premises and returned to Mangolpuri. There, they allegedly arranged additional associates and armed themselves with knives before returning to the area.Investigators said the accused then targeted two men whom they believed had participated in the earlier assault and allegedly stabbed them repeatedly before fleeing the scene. A manhunt was subsequently launched, leading to their apprehension.A case has been registered at Shahbad Dairy police station under Sections 103 (murder), 109 (attempt to murder), and 3(5) (common intention) of BNS. Police said further investigation is under way to identify and trace the other associates involved in the attack.
