Hyderabad: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Monday caught a deputy jailer and his associate accepting a ₹10,000 bribe at Huzurabad sub-jail.Deputy jailer N Devender allegedly engaged R Harish, an operator at the jail’s petrol bunk, to collect the bribe on his behalf. The trap was laid after a complainant approached the ACB, alleging that Devender had demanded the money in return for providing better facilities to his father-in-law, a remand prisoner.Devender also allegedly assured the complainant that the prisoner would not be transferred to Khammam jail.During the trap, ACB officials caught Harish accepting the bribe at Devender’s behest. Both accused were arrested and will be produced before a magistrate.
