NEW DELHI: A woman jumped from the first-floor balcony, while her sister-in-law jumped into a shaft of their house in southeast Delhi’s Jaitpur Extension following an alleged quarrel between the two over a video, officials said on Saturday.The incident took place on October 2 at a house in Khadda Colony. According to officials, one of the women was working in the kitchen when the other allegedly recorded a video of her and sent it to another person, leading to a quarrel between the two.During the altercation, the 25-year-old woman allegedly jumped from the first floor or balcony of the building towards the street and sustained injuries. She was provided immediate assistance and taken to Feliz Hospital for treatment, officials said.The other woman subsequently locked herself inside a room, following which a PCR call was made to Kalindi Kunj police station.On receiving the information, Kalindi Kunj SHO Raman Kumar rushed to the spot. A fire brigade team also reached the house.As the woman had locked herself inside the room, police and fire brigade personnel opened the door with the assistance of the fire brigade team. They found that the 24-year-old woman had allegedly jumped into a shaft of the house, police said.Police and fire brigade personnel then launched a rescue operation and safely pulled the woman out of the shaft.Both women were subsequently shifted for medical treatment. The 25-year-old woman, who was initially taken to Feliz Hospital, was later shifted to the AIIMS Trauma Centre through a PCR van for better medical care. The other woman was also shifted to the AIIMS Trauma Centre.(With Agency Inputs)
