New Delhi: Delhi Police has busted an interstate cocaine trafficking network with the arrest of two Nigerian women at Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station. Around 2.3 kg of cocaine, estimated to be worth over Rs 20 crore in the international market, was seized from their possession, police said Saturday.The accused have been identified as Chikanso James (43) and Happiness Okoye (41).According to police, the accused were allegedly transporting the contraband from Delhi to Mumbai. Personnel of the Railway Unit’s Special Staff were patrolling at Platform No 1 of Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station on Friday, where they spotted the two women carrying luggage under suspicious circumstances. A search of their bags led to the recovery of 11 packets containing a suspicious white powder, police said.A team reached the spot. The Crime Team and Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) experts examined the recovered substance, which was confirmed to be cocaine in a commercial quantity, police said.A case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered. Police said the passports of both women have been seized as part of the investigation.
