Sonipat: Senior police officers from Delhi and Haryana on Monday held a high-level coordination meeting in Sonipat to evolve a joint strategy against inter-state crime, focusing on wanted and absconding criminals exploiting the Delhi-Sonipat border to evade arrests.The meeting, chaired by Sonipat commissioner of police Mamta Singh, focused on strengthening law enforcement, border security and coordination to prevent criminals from evading police by crossing jurisdictions.The officers decided to launch coordinated raids for the arrest of wanted, absconding and reward-listed criminals hiding in each other’s territory. The two forces will also step up action against organised crime networks and illegal arms trafficking, with real-time sharing of intelligence on gangsters, their associates, hideouts and criminal activities.Officials decided that border sealing and joint checking operations would be mounted immediately after any major criminal incident to prevent suspects from fleeing across the state boundary.The officers reaffirmed their commitment to taking inter-state coordination to a new level, bringing down crime rate, and providing NCR residents a safer, more secure and fear-free environment.The meeting was attended by Sonipat DCP (crime) Narendra Kadyan, while Delhi police were represented by JCP Vijay Singh, DCPs Shobhit Saxena and Shashank Jaiswal, ACPs Firoz Alam and Sarthak Tyagi, and inspector Amit Dahiya.
