Lucknow: A Delhi court has sent foreign national Jordan Brown, also known as Jordan Joseph Peter Fitzpatrick and Logan Miller, to judicial custody in Tihar Jail in connection with a case linked to his alleged escape from immigration authorities two years ago.Brown was arrested from Sonauli area along the India-Nepal border in Maharajganj and was produced before Patiala House Court in New Delhi on Sept 16 by IGI Airport police. He was presented before Judge Animesh Bhaskar, who remanded him to judicial custody until Sept 29. Police later shifted him to Tihar Jail.Brown had previously been lodged in Gorakhpur jail and was brought to Delhi in police custody on Sept 15, ahead of his court appearance.He is also facing proceedings in Judicial Magistrate’s Court in Maharajganj under provisions related to immigration and foreign nationals, along with allegations of cheating. His legal counsel, Ashutosh Pandey, said the case remains pending in Maharajganj. He added that since a chargesheet has already been filed, Brown has not been required to appear in person during subsequent hearings.Pandey said he would approach Tihar Jail authorities to arrange Brown’s appearance before the Maharajganj court through video conferencing on Sept 28.Gorakhpur jail superintendent DK Pandey said the responsibility for producing Brown in the Maharajganj matter now rests with Tihar Jail.Brown was arrested on July 11, with officials alleging he was attempting to cross into Nepal without valid travel documents.
