New Delhi: A Delhi court has directed the investigating officer (IO) of Parliament Street police station to submit a fresh report on a complaint filed by senior advocate Mehmood Pracha alleging electoral irregularities by Election Commission of India (ECI) officials.The complaint, filed in 2025, alleged violations of provisions of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, and the Handbook for Electoral Registration Officers, 2023. It claimed that ECI officials across several states, including Delhi, facilitated bogus voting and unlawful exclusion of eligible voters from electoral rolls.Judicial magistrate first class Kautuk Bhardwaj noted that Pracha had pointed out deficiencies in the action taken report (ATR) filed by the IO, including that he was not given an opportunity to present evidence.The court observed that the ATR could not have been filed without a preliminary inquiry or examination of the complainant. It directed the IO to examine the complaint and supporting documents submitted by Pracha and file a fresh report. The matter is listed for hearing on Nov 11.
