New Delhi: Passengers travelling light can now use dedicated entry points at each terminal of Indira Gandhi International Airport, allowing them to bypass the check-in counters. Though the service was introduced at Terminal 2 in 2019, it was expanded to Terminals 1 and 3 Thursday.Passengers travelling with only hand baggage or no baggage can use this facility available at Gate 5 of Terminal 1, Gate 1 of Terminal 2 and Gate 2 of Terminal 3. Eligible passengers must complete web check-in and have an e-boarding pass. They can head directly to the designated forecourt gate, bypass the regular check-in counters and proceed straight to security.“Light travellers now have a dedicated entry. Express@DEL is now live for passengers with hand baggage only or no baggage. Inaugurated at T1 Gate 5 by Manomay Rai, deputy CEO, Delhi Airport,” wrote Delhi Airport on X.Delhi International Airport Limited, the airport operator, in Aug, said it expanded its domestic footprint to 90 destinations, becoming the only airport in the country with direct connectivity to 32 of India’s 36 states and Union Territories. Among Indian states, Maharashtra is the best connected from Delhi, with direct flights to seven destinations, followed by Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, each connected to six destinations.
