Gurgaon: A man was found dead under mysterious circumstances inside a pickup vehicle in the Wazirabad area on Tuesday morning.Police said the body was completely decomposed, indicating that the man may have died days ago.The victim, identified as Sanjay, was a resident of Jind and worked as a driver at a logistics company in Gopalpur.An officer said that he parked his vehicle on the night of May 16 and the car had remained there for the past three days.The body was discovered after locals noticed a foul smell emanating from the parked pickup vehicle and a swarm of flies hovering around it. “A passerby alerted the police, following which a team from the Sector 93 police post reached the spot,” the officer added. The team found the body lying inside the vehicle and immediately cordoned off the area. The body was later shifted to the mortuary for postmortem examination. Police officials said the exact cause of death will be known only after the autopsy report is received.“During preliminary investigation, police did not find any major visible injury marks on the body. However, due to the advanced stage of decomposition, officials said it was difficult to determine whether foul play was involved,” police said.They suspect the man may have been under the influence of intoxicants at the time of his death, though all angles are being examined.A senior police officer said CCTV cameras installed in and around Wazirabad are being scanned to trace the movement of the vehicle and identify anyone who may have accompanied the victim before his death.The pickup vehicle has been taken into police custody for further examination. An inquest proceeding under relevant sections has been initiated, and further investigation is underway. Officials said the case will become clearer once forensic findings and the autopsy report are received.
