Gurgaon: Three youths were detained for allegedly creating a disturbance inside a residential society in Sector 92 early Saturday by playing loud music, dancing on the bonnet of an SUV and assaulting security guards who tried to stop them.The incident took place at Sare Homes Society, where two visitors had come to meet a tenant residing in the complex. According to police and RWA members, the trio consumed alcohol inside the flat before coming to the society’s common area in the early hours of Saturday.Police said the youths parked a Toyota Fortuner on the society premises and started playing music at high volume around 4.30am. A video of the incident, which later surfaced on social media, showed one of them dancing on the bonnet of the SUV while music played from the vehicle.Security guards intervened and asked the youths to stop creating a disturbance and return to the flat. However, the situation escalated and the trio allegedly abused and assaulted the guards, police said.Residents alerted the police and shared videos of the incident on social media. In a post, a resident alleged that the youths created a nuisance after consuming alcohol and assaulted security staff when confronted. The resident also claimed that repeated calls were made to the police helpline during the incident, but the number remained busy.Acting on a written complaint submitted by the residents’ welfare association (RWA) and on the circulated video, police initiated action and seized two vehicles linked to the accused, including the Fortuner. “We have impounded two vehicles and taken action against the three individuals under Section 172 (C) (persons bound to conform to lawful directions of police) of the BNSS,” an officer said.According to investigators, the two visitors are residents of Garhi Harsaru and work as property dealers.The RWA has also initiated action against the tenant who hosted the visitors. Residents said the tenant has been served a two-day notice to vacate the flat.In its complaint, the RWA stated that the tenant had previously been warned over similar conduct and had earlier submitted a written apology and paid a penalty imposed by the society.Police said further action is being taken and warned that strict measures would be taken against anyone found creating a nuisance or disturbing public order in residential areas.
