Jaipur: For residents of Gokulpura Crossing area, damaged roads have become more than just an inconvenience. People living in the neighbourhood say the constant movement of heavy trucks to and from a cement company warehouse located inside the residential area has completely ruined the roads and turned daily travel into a struggle.Large potholes filled with stagnant water can now be seen across the stretch, while traffic congestion and minor accidents have become a regular sight. Locals say the situation gets worse during the rainy season, as it becomes difficult to even distinguish the road from the potholes.Residents claim they have repeatedly raised complaints with the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) as well as through the 181 helpline, but no permanent solution has been found so far.

Local resident Vivek Dubey said, “People in this area want development, not just promises. Despite repeated complaints, nobody seems to listen. During the last monsoon, even entering the lane became difficult because of the condition of the roads.”Rajesh Meena, who runs a shop in the locality, said the continuous movement of overloaded trucks throughout the day badly affected both traffic and road conditions. “People are forced to drive slowly because the road is badly damaged, but accidents still happen. At times, the traffic becomes so heavy that commuters start looking for alternate routes,” he said.College student Neha Sharma said residents often feel neglected when compared with other parts of the city. “Roads in VIP areas are always maintained properly, but nobody seems concerned about roads used by ordinary people. We travel through this stretch every day and there is always fear of skidding because of the potholes,” she said.
