Dabolim, Mopa airports, Mormugao Port notified as tourist places | Goa News



Panaji: The tourism department has expanded the list of tourist spots in the state to include the Goa International airport, Dabolim, Manohar International Airport, Mopa and Mormugao Port, Vasco.As notified tourist places, the three hubs will now be covered under legal provisions that govern dumping of trash, damage to public property, environmental damage and other activities described as nuisance. The state govt has prohibited 19 unauthorised activities in notified tourist spots to keep these spots safe and appealing for tourists.The notification which is in force with immediate effect is issued under the Goa Tourist Places (Protection and Maintenance) Act, 2001.Banned activities in notified tourist places in the state include littering, consuming alcohol in non-designated areas, blocking emergency personnel, unlicensed hawkers, and harassment of tourists, all of which could lead to fines starting at Rs 5,000 and rising to Rs 1 lakh.
