Cyber plaint against CM slur, sensitive content on FB

Kolkata: A cyber crime case has been registered against an unidentified person for allegedly posting objectionable and communally sensitive content on Facebook, including a post targeting chief minister Suvendu Adhikari and another related to the arrangement of Qurbani cattle for Bangladeshi individuals, police said.The case was registered at Bidhannagar Cyber Crime police station on May 14 based on a complaint lodged by Raju Sah, a resident of Mahisbathan Udayan Pally in Sector V.According to the complaint, Sah came across a Facebook profile named “Rakhal Bedouin” and found posts that he alleged were capable of disturbing communal harmony and public peace. One of the posts allegedly carried a Bengali message directed at the CM, which the complainant claimed could incite unrest.The complaint further alleged that another post from the same profile claimed to be arranging “Qurbani cows” for people from Bangladesh and included a WhatsApp contact number. The complainant alleged that such content violated govt directives and could trigger tension considering cross-border concerns.Police sources said screenshots of the posts and profile details were submitted as supporting material with the complaint. “Investigation is underway to identify the individual operating the profile,” said a cop.
