CHENNAI: Former chief minister and DMK chief M K Stalin has strongly condemned the Union government’s actions following the detention of youth activists. He questioned the government’s authoritarian approach, asking how many young voices the BJP sought to silence through force.Stalin warned that detaining young people for dissent would only backfire, prompting ordinary citizens across political lines to take to the streets in defence of democratic rights. Expressing solidarity with detained CJP leaders Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das, he said the DMK was prepared to extend legal aid and administrative support. His remarks came amid rising tensions in the national capital over ongoing demonstrations targeting the Union government and the Election Commission of India.
