NUH: A suspected cow smuggler was injured in an exchange of fire with the Nuh Police near Binwa village under the Ferozepur Jhirka Sadar police station limits on Tuesday. According to the police, the accused, identified as Jabir, a resident of Ghatmika village in Rajasthan’s Pahari police station area, opened fire at the police team during an operation. The police returned fire, during which Jabir sustained a bullet injury to his left knee. He was taken to Shaheed Hasan Khan Medical College Hospital in Nalhar, Nuh, for treatment. Police said three head of cattle, a country-made pistol and two cartridges were recovered from the spot. The operation was carried out by the Ferozepur Jhirka CIA team under the leadership of Sub-Inspector Mahender Singh. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway. Police are also probing the accused’s criminal record and his alleged network.
