Colva: Additional sessions judge Sudhir S Shirgaonkar dismissed the bail application of a man who was arrested for allegedly assaulting another man along with others and causing his death last week.Francisco Dias, along with Greyson Antonio Fernandes, Domnic Fernandes, Ashley Fernandes, Henry Fernandes and others, allegedly formed an unlawful assembly and brutally assaulted an unidentified man, aged around 30, with kicks and fist blows, suspecting that he was a bike thief.Rejecting Dias’s bail plea, Shirgaonkar observed that the applicant was seen in a video entering private premises where the vehicle was kept. The court questioned Dias’s reason for entering the premises, observing that if he was merely an onlooker, he could have remained outside rather than entering the private property.“The question arises as to what made the applicant to enter into the private premises which does not belong to him,” the judge observed. The court further noted that Dias appeared to have a specific interest in entering the premises.
