Jaipur: Four men allegedly held a courier agent at knifepoint, assaulted him and forced him to arrange a parcel containing Rs 38 lakh before fleeing with the cash in Jaipur.The incident took place on Aug 26, and an FIR was registered at Mansarovar police station Sunday. Police are examining CCTV footage from the area to identify and trace the accused.Mansarovar SHO Satish Chand said on Monday that the complainant, Thakur Jugaji (34), a resident of Ramlala Ka Rasta in Manak Chowk, works for a courier company.According to the complaint, Jugaji received a call from the company’s Raipur office around 11am on Aug 26 and was told that someone from Gupta Real Estate would contact him regarding a courier parcel. About an hour later, a man called Jugaji, claiming to be from Gupta Real Estate, and asked him to deliver a parcel near a hospital in Mansarovar.When Jugaji reached the location, the man directed him to an Innova parked nearby. “Four men were inside the vehicle and allegedly held him at knifepoint. The accused told him that the parcel he was to deliver contained Rs 38 lakh and assaulted him while demanding that he call his Raipur office and arrange the cash,” an officer said.Fearing for his life, Jugaji made the call as instructed and told the office to hand over the money to the accused’s associate. After the associate received the Rs 38 lakh in Raipur, the accused allegedly threw Jugaji out of the moving vehicle and fled, the officer said.
