Pune: Police on Wednesday morning took Chetan Chaudhary (22), an accused in the murder of Gahunje realtor Ketan Agarwal, to Lohagad Fort to recreate the crime scene and conduct a gait analysis. An officer from the Pune Rural police said the team recreated the sequence of events at the fort to verify Chaudhary’s movements and compare them with CCTV footage. “We conducted the scene recreation to establish his exact role in the crime,” the officer said. The police had earlier conducted a similar scene recreation at the fort with Agarwal’s fiancée Siya Goyal (20), another accused in the case. The officer said the investigation revealed that Goyal had taken Agarwal’s cellphone before the latter was pushed off the cliff at Lohagad Fort on June 18. “She later handed it over to Agarwal’s relative, but we are investigating whether she deleted or destroyed any evidence from the cellphone,” he said.Agarwal (25), director of a real estate firm, died after falling from a cliff at Lohagad Fort in Maval taluka on June 18. The case was initially registered as an accidental death but later turned into a murder investigation after police claimed involvement of Goyal and Chaudhary. Both were arrested on June 23 and remanded in police custody till July 3. Goyal allegedly gave a pre-decided signal to Chaudhary before Agarwal was pushed from the cliff. The police alleged that the accused duo rehearsed the crime before carrying out the act at Lohagad Fort. A police officer said Goyal and Chaudhary confessed during custodial interrogation to practising the act at a hill near Market Yard.
