Cops invoke MCOCA against 9 in Rs11 crore online share fraud case | Pune News



Pune : The Pimpri Chinchwad police for the first time slapped the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against nine people arrested in an online share fraud.The accused are members of a gang, which duped a 58-year-old former director of a private company of Rs11 crore in an online share-trading fraud. The Pimpri Chinchwad cyber police succeeded in freezing Rs2.65 crore of the fraud amount transferred to different bank accounts.The Pimpri Chinchwad cyber police arrested the suspects from Pune, Kolhapur, Mumbai, Aurangabad and Udaipur, Rajasthan. These accused have cases of online fraud against them with the Pimpri Chinchwad, Mumbai and Madhya Pradesh police.Senior inspector Ravikiran Nale of the Pimpri Chinchwad cyberpolice prepared the proposal of invoking the stringent MCOCA against the accused. Additional commissioner of police Sarang Awad issued the order to invoke the MCOCA against the gang members.
